I went for a take-away today and ordered Tom Yum Goong as a starter and Gang Panang Chicken for main course. The portion of Tom Yum Goong was too small for the price they charged and the quality was not very good (just a few bits of button mushrooms and cooked prawns - surely it is not a traditional authentic Thai Tom Yum Goong soup!). The Gang Panang Chicken is ok but could tell that they put a lot of sodium bicarbonate into the chicken meat as the meat does not have any favour. They even didn't fill up the whole take-away box (only just 2/3 full) - very stingy for the take-away price £7.95. I would not recommend anyone to visit that restaurant again unless they make some rational changes!
It doesn't look much from the outside, but it's really worth a visit. The chicken satay was cooked perfectly, as was the ribeye in the Weeping Tiger (I've never been asked how I like my beef in a Thai/Chinese before!).
The food here was fantastic. The set menu was possibly the best meal i've had in a long time
This restaurant has good decor and the new owners and staff are very friendly. All the dishes we've tried have been excellent. The lunchtime deals are great value and the service is good.
The restaurant was taken over by new owners since January 2010 and changed its name to THAI FAMILY. It is a brand new restaurant. Although the decor remains unchanged, you may see new employees and new menus. The previous rating and reviews may not be helpful and and is not applicable to this restaurant. I recommend you to visit the restaurant and experience authentic Thai cuisine and service with your own. At some point you have to wait for a long time until the main dishes but the food is very delicious ... It's worth the wait ...
