Food tastes good. Staff is very friendly. Very good ambiance. Slightly over-priced. I have been back here several times.

We were seated upstairs. The d├ęcor is a relaxed and playful sort of quayside theme. Starters were nice. We were going to share and waiter brought two side-plates without being asked which was good. Was warned off the pasta by previous reviewers, so J and I had the steak. J wanted fillet but for a dish normally served with sirloin. Waiter happy to oblige, and fillet dutifully turned up. Steaks very nicely cooked to our request. Had a litre of house white. Cost - Very affordable. Only downside was erroneous beer added to our bill. Removed with mumbling appology, but still we had a nice night. Oh and there were two small birthday parties. So with no warning lights dimmed and we we all joined in with the singing.... quite jolly.

Gianni's is exactly what you want from an accessbile Italian restaurant. Reasonably priced, friendly (if a bit cliched) Italian waiters, candlelit tables and decent food. This is not a connosieurs culinary experience, but Gianni's doesn't pretend to be. It's for want of a better phrase 'cheap and cheerful' - but at the high end of this particular bracket.
