Cute little riverside pub, plenty of atmosphere inside and when the sun comes out plenty of outdoor seating right next to the river. Food is simple but well executed with all the usual offenders. Great selection of local and UK ales on tap.

We hired the room upsatairs on Sun 21.04.2013 for my son's confirmation the staff were so helpful and the food was great ( a little exspensive but it was worth it) we had lovely weather which was a bonus .highly recommend but do not let the kids get hold of the cake . mind you they cleaned it all up (that was the children).

This is my local and does a roaring trade at weekends or any time when the sun comes out! It is in an amazing location perched on the banks of the Thames, close to Syon Park. The Apprentice does a good choice of food all day, the Sunday roasts are worth going for, as is the 'vegetarian fish and chips'. Also does a good selection of guest ales, it's a Taylor Walker pub so no shortage of choice - Summer Lightning being my favorite. Overall makes a change from the usual suspects in Richmond, worth seeking out if you're in the area

Nice old pub by the river which I would guess gets very busy on sunny days. We stopped for lunch after a day at Hampton Court and were pleasantly surprised by the menu. It is much more varied than the usual chain pub fare and the boys went straight for the special... Wild boar burger, which they reported to be very good. I had my first taste of cheese and onion flavour chips and Mum was very happy with her suet crust pie.

Big portions of food, but not the best quality. Fish and chips was extremely oily. Drinks was great and wide selection of ales. Great place to go for drink and okay for food after a few pints. Great view of the river with outdoor seating.
